George Gregory Deranian Obituary Eulogy

For my Dad, going to the US Naval Academy, changed his life in ways never imagined. He was the son of Armenian immigrants who had fled Turkey with the shirts on their backs to escape the Turkish slaughters. Hitler is quoted as saying "who remembers the Armenians, so who will remember the Jews"

My grandparents, Charles and Elmas Deranian instilled hard work, determination and drive into my father and Uncle Mike. Based on the success of my cousins and sisters, I would say that this tradition has not passed with their deaths or the death my father.

The written word was so important to my Dad. Punctuation, diction, tact, and flair were always part of everything he wrote, whether it was for his church, the Air Force or a dear friend's memorial service.

Thanks for being my Dad, Dad.

This is an unbelievable video that I discovered the day before Dad's funeral service. My cousin, Steve mentioned that there had been an 8mm film recovered by Janet when their mother, Norma died. Dad is probably 12 or 13 years old with his brother, Minas, his father, and his mother. The other people we do not know. If you do, please let me know.
